I am extremely proud to sponsor Exmouth Basketball Club and provide them with the funding needed to host training sessions for the 2023/2024 season. Specifically, this funding will cover the alternate Monday sessions from October 2023 until March 2024.

I co-founded Exmouth Basketball Club in 2010. I was a player, coach, secretary, treasurer, safe-guarding officer, marketing officer and more. Basically everything you needed to launch a basketball club.

The club was originally founded through a project I created in 2009 called Bridge Building Basketball Exmouth. The project was designed to bring together basketball enthusiasts from across the region and it eventually helped to form Exmouth Jesters Basketball Club in 2010.

The main reason the club exists is because I wanted an activity that I could use to get, and stay, fit and healthy having spent a lot of time smoking and drinking through college and university. So, I started a basketball club.

After a few years I stepped away from the club to focus on my career. Since stepping away from the club I’ve worked for University of Exeter, Exeter College, and Devon County Council. I’ve achieved what I wanted to in that respect.

Now I’m in a position to engage more again in a sport I love, basketball.

Basketball is one of the most played sports in the United Kingdom and the world.

I love the game for lots of reasons, but ultimately I love it for what it provides you with physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Direction, belonging, and positivity.

I highly encourage everyone to get involved in basketball on some level as often or as little as they can. You don’t have to play if you don’t want to. You can coach or officiate. You can be a supporter or spectator. There are so many ways to be involved. Ultimately, if you respect the game it will provide you with so many benefits.

I used to play basketball on and off as a kid; down the park and at home. But when I was growing up there wasn’t the same opportunities to play regularly in Exmouth like there is today. Plus, I was already busy doing gymnastics, football, and tennis. I rekindled my love for basketball when I was at university and I had more spare time.

My personal journey as a coach started properly when I was 24 years old and ever since then I’ve been working hard to develop my knowledge and skillset. Draw It Books is a project that allows me to share and use the specialised coaching techniques I have learned and developed. But these techniques don’t just have to be used within basketball. They don’t even have to be used within the world of sport. They can be used in any walk of life to help you get better at something. Please check out some of the books I’ve created below.

Click on the books to learn a little bit more about them.

I’ve written books on self-help.

Sports coaching.

I’ve written foreign language learning books.

I’ve written books to help kids, and adults, improve their reading and writing through drawing and colouring in.

I believe Draw It Books is a much more enjoyable and creative approach to learning that lots of people can benefit from. We know learning is much more impactful when you enjoy it. So, if you want to try something new consider trying to do it the Draw It Books way!
